Another standout player in the junior college ranks seeing his recruitment skyrocket in recent weeks is outside linebacker/defensive end Michael Clemons. Clemons has continued to shine throughout his redshirt freshman season drawing college recruiters to Cisco.

Clemons is one of those rare breed of athletes that can seemingly do it all but has flown under the radar until this spring. Emerging from his redshirt year at 6-6, 241 pounds, the former Sachse High School (TX) talent is now one of the more sought after players in the junior college level. His spring reel has been backed up on the field this season with 30 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, and 2.5 sacks through six games played complimenting the play of linebackers Solomon Hunter (83 tackles) and Elijah Timarky (73 tackles).

Offers have come in from Arkansas, Kansas State, Central Florida, Utah State, Middle Tennessee State, North Carolina State, Missouri, Tennessee, and Ole Miss with Texas A&M being the most recent offer on Oct. 19. Interest that could turn into a scholarship extended has been coming in from Texas Tech, Oklahoma, and Minnesota. Clemons reports new interest from Georgia, Florida State, Southern California, Iowa State, and UCLA.

All the teams showing interest still wavering on offering or not offering better hurry, Clemons has set three of his five official visits with Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Missouri locked in for January. A fourth potential visit seems eminent with Arkansas but not completely planned out yet.

Cisco wraps up their 2016 season on Oct. 29 with a home game against Trinity Valley Community College.
