San Diego State added a versatile talent to their 2017 recruiting class on Tuesday when in-state receiver Shane Coleman pledged to the Aztecs.

Coleman is a standout for Tesoro High School lining up primarily on the outside on offense. Listed at 6-5.5, 205 pounds, Coleman is a big target in the passing game with deceptive speed, athleticism to adjust to the ball in the air, and shows great hands catching passes cleanly away from his body. His frame offers options for Coleman and the Aztecs once on campus. He could fill out becoming a tight end or continue to be a chain mover on the outside and a tough to stop weapon in the red zone at receiver.

The Titans are off to a 4-4 mark out of southern California’s South Coast League after running up a record of 10-3 a year ago. Coleman has played against some of the best competition in southern California with the Titans squaring off against Mater Dei, Edison, Rancho Cucamonga, and San Clemente over the past two seasons.

The big production against top talent has made college recruiters take notice. SDSU battled on the recruiting trail against Air Force, UNLV, New Mexico, Montana State, Central Michigan, and Hawaii for Coleman. The Aztec fan base found out about Coleman’s commitment on Twitter with a posted statement:
