The NCAA’s back-and-forth view on football satellite camps for colleges has sparked thoughts on both sides of the issue. For now, satellite camps are a go for all teams across the country and the colleges within the Natural State are embracing the opportunity as a collective group.

Reports were released on Thursday that Arkansas, Arkansas State, and Ouachita Baptist have agreed to hold a football camp at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on June 5.

The rare meeting or grouping of the state’s colleges are for the betterment of all the players within the region. The $30 cost to get in front of as many colleges at one time against some of the best competition around is invaluable, especially when a scholarship offer is potentially on the line.

The idea for the group-share camp reportedly came about when Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema, Arkansas State head coach Blake Anderson, and Ouachita Baptist head coach Todd Knight got together in Phoenix last week during the American Football Coaches Association Board of Trustees meeting. The prevailing thought is to have all Arkansas based colleges represented at the camp but to date the other colleges that will be in attendance is unclear.

Arkansas State already has the camp listed on their team site. Check-in is at 5:00 p.m.
