The Razorbacks pushed their 2017 recruiting class to 22 verbal commits on Thursday with the addition of Oklahoma cornerback Kamren Curl.

Curl was key performer for Muskogee High School in 2016 helping the Roughers to a 9-2 season. Facing off against 6A Oklahoma talent, Curl chipped in on offense and defense coming up with 22 receptions for 290 yards with a touchdown and had one carry for 41 yards. Perhaps his biggest contributions were on defense ending his senior season third on the team in total tackles with 56 making 33 solo stops with two interceptions and two passes defended in stats posted through 10 games.

College coaches took a notice to the 6-2, 180 pound, athlete after a breakout junior season with 57 receptions for 659 yards with eight scores and an 89 tackle three interception season. Over 20 scholarships were extended with Curl listing his top schools as Arkansas, Nebraska, TCU, Baylor, Texas, and Ole Miss on New Year’s Day.

Arkansas fans found out about the good news at 4:00 p.m. CT with Curl posting, “COMMITTED!! #WooPig” on Twitter.

The Hogs now have nine verbal commitments slated to play defense in their 2017 class. Of the nine, five are in the secondary.

247Sports rates Arkansas’ 2017 class at No. 27 in the country, No. 11 overall in the SEC. At the time of this post Rivals had not updated their recruiting standings to include Curl. With 21 commitments, Rivals ranks the Hogs’ class No. 22 in the country with four four-star recruits; Chase Hayden, Montaric Brown, Jeremy Patton, and Brandon Martin.
