LSU’s hot streak on the recruiting trail from the three picked up over the weekend extended to Monday when area 2017 defensive end Aaron Moffitt verbally committed to the Tigers.

Moffitt was a part of Baton Rouge Catholic’s 9-2 season in 2014 but took on a bigger role during his junior season. The 6’4”, 255 pound, end racked up 55 tackles, 14 tackles for a loss, and 12 sacks in 2015 earning 5A first team All-State, All-Metro, and All-District honors.

Playing primarily off the left side of the line, Moffitt displayed a wide array of moves to the quarterback slapping hands of tackles and tight ends and using swim moves on the way to the quarterback. The Bears went 10-3 last season finishing the year ranked No. 3 in the state by MaxPreps.

LSU extended an offer to Moffitt during a Junior Day visit in mid-February. Offers from teams like Cal, Duke, and South Carolina continued to roll in for the Baton Rouge native. Other teams hoping to draw Moffitt to their campus in 2017 includes Colorado State, Purdue, Nicholls State, Texas-San Antonio, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Ball State, and Louisiana Tech.

Moffitt made his decision national news posting a brief comment via Twitter:
