Los Angeles Valley College sophomore linebacker Chad Thornton Jr. might be a long way from his Haymarket, Virginia, area home but the former Battlefield High School standout is making himself at home on the Monarchs’ defense in 2015.

The 6’1”, 230 pound, Virginia native has settled in nicely with LA Valley’s defense coming up with 18 tackles for the 3-1 squad to be among the team leaders. Thornton redshirted as a member of Manhattan’s Globe Tech in 2014 but has quickly caught the eye of college recruiters with interests from Hampton, Youngstown State, and Utah State.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I caught up with Thornton to talk about his sophomore season to date and got a quick recruiting news update.
