There is a checkbox college coaches go through for each player at various positions. One of the more unique and important positions in the modern football era is defensive end. An end must be able to seal the edge against the rush, control gap integrity on the inside, and rush the passer effectively. One Class of 2019 end meeting all the criteria and then some is Many High School’s Myron Warren.

Warren exploded onto the recruiting scene in 2017 helping the Tigers to an 11-3 season with a semifinal round run into Louisiana’s 2A playoffs. The shared stat line does not seem to capture Warren’s full abilities to cause chaos in the opposition’s backfield, but the stat line reads of 41 total stops, four tackles for a loss, two fumble recoveries, and four jarring hits forcing fumbles.

Complete stat line or not, college coaches are loving what they are seeing from the 6-3.5, 235-pound, defender. To date, 19 schools have offered: Arkansas, Arizona State, TCU, Kansas State, Florida International, SMU, Tulane, Western Kentucky, Eastern Illinois, Southern University, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Memphis, Arkansas State, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.

With interest continuing to grow for Warren, and some big SEC visits lined up, I sat down with the three-star rated end to learn more about his game and tremendous recruiting process.
