About da Guru(s)
Ryan Wright, a.k.a. the Recruiting Guru, has been working in mass media and news markets since the mid 1990’s. While in college Ryan was the afternoon producer for the No. 1 news radio station in Arkansas writing updates, interviewing topical people of interest for breaking news stories all while forming and overseeing a news team into the vision of KARN News Radio executives.
Over the years Ryan has worked as a sports writer and journalist with articles featured on Scout.com, The Bleacher Report, Sports-at-Work, LA Times online edition, and was the editor for Razorbackers.com in association with Sports Illustrated and FanSided Network.
Using his vast background in news reporting and journalism, in 2012 Ryan launched The News In Two, a smartphone application on iOS and Google Android platforms. The News In Two provided breaking U.S. and World, Sports, Entertainment, Business and Tech, and Odd news for smartphone users on a global platform. The unique spin for “N2” was a two-minute audio burst in each news genre allowing end users to receive news updates on their own timeline off their individual devices.
In 2013 Ryan joined Elite Sports Network as the site’s National Recruiting Director breaking college and high school football updates to an avid U.S. fan base. You can also read some of Ryan’s work on Athlon Sports where he covers the Arkansas Razorbacks and LSU Tigers football programs and gives national recruiting updates.
Over the years Ryan has interviewed hundreds top high school football recruits, college football players, and NFL players from across the nation developing a reputation for insightful, non-biased, and trusted reporting appreciated not only by fans but by each individual interviewee.
In 2013 and 2014 Ryan received an award as one of the top journalist in Los Angeles from online publications (Public Seek & Australia WOW); no trophies, no certificates, just notified for small bragging rights.
