Cal adds verbal commitment No. 17, lands in-state DT Chris Yaghi

Since April the Cal Golden Bears have been hitting the recruiting trails hard. The fruits of all their labors are starting to roll in as they continue a hot streak of landing verbal commitments getting No. 17 from defensive tackle Chris Yaghi.
The Foothill High School star committed to Cal on Friday posting his decision on Twitter writing, “Proud to say that I’m committed to the University of California! Can’t wait to be a Golden Bear! #CalGang16.”
The 3-star recruit picked Cal over offers from Utah, Oregon, Nevada, Iowa State, Boise State, Air Force, Washington State, UNLV, San Jose State, and San Diego State.
Since June 14, the Golden Bears have landed nine verbal commitments with four coming from in-state programs but have gone to Texas, Hawaii, Washington, Minnesota, and Georgia to land solid Division-I prospects.
Yaghi is the second defensive lineman Cal has landed joining defensive end Russell Becker from Fergus Falls Community College.
