Las Vegas’ Liberty High School played a national schedule during the 2018 season taking on eventual Arizona state champs Saguaro, Lone Peak (UT), and No. 3 nationally ranked IMG Academy (FL) before going in-state to play tough squads like Desert Pines, Desert Oasis, Sierra Vista, and national powerhouse Bishop Gorman. Through it all was rising Class of 2020 cornerback Donte Bowers Jr. The three-star recruit ended the season with 11 tackles, nine solo, three picks, and knocked away two passes through the Patriots march to the 4A semifinal round of the playoffs. Now coaches throughout the region are showing interest in the 5-10, 170-pound, defender. His recruit stock is set to soar, not only by his play on defense but he is also adding slot receiver to his list of talents in 2019.

In an RNG catch-up interview, I sat down with Bowers ahead of an aggressive college camp circuit for the latest on one of Nevada’s top corners.
