After a successful career at Parkview Baptist in Louisiana, quarterback Roman Mula (6-1, 190) transferred to IMG Academy in Florida for post-grad season to prepare himself for college life.

During his senior season at Parkview Baptist, the dual-threat playmaker threw for 1,057 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 244 yards and five more scores during the six-game schedule. His 2021 campaign has started off strong as he has helped his team to a 2-0 start.

This 6’1”, 190-pound, gunslinger has a strong and accurate arm but does a great job extending the play with his legs. Mula also shows tremendous leadership.

During an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Roman to talk about his transfer and his post-grad season at IMG Academy.

Interview

Roman, how is your season at IMG Academy going?

It’s going well. We’re 2-0. We have a great team with hard workers.

What was the biggest adjustment in making the move from Parkview Baptist in Louisiana to IMG Academy in Florida?

Living on your own for the first time but football makes it comfortable.

What are your strengths on the football field?

I’m a pass-first guy but I can continue to keep the play alive.

What have you been working on the most since your transfer?

Just improving on everything including making the big plays and reading the defenses.

How would you describe your style of play?

I’m a leader and a pass-first guy but I have speed and like to run.

Would you consider yourself a dual-threat or pro-style quarterback?

Dual-threat because I like to run.

Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?

Russell Wilson, because he’s more of a pocket passer.

What is your fastest 40-yard dash time?

4.56 this past summer.

What other schools are showing you interest in you at this time?

I’m talking to quite a few FCS schools.

What kind of feedback are you receiving about your skills?

The coaches like what I can do. I can fit into different systems because I can pass and run.

How is this post-grad season preparing you for the next chapter in your life at college?

It’s definitely helping a lot with an extra semester and the higher level of play on the field.

What are your goals for the rest of your season at IMG Academy?

Go undefeated and go play college football.

Thank you for your time today.
