Grab your popcorn and favorite movie snacks, an action reel is about to begin. The game film Charles “Chas” Nimrod turned in during the 2020 season has more juice than a Hollywood thriller. And the crazy thing is, we are not fully seeing all that he can do on the field to impact the game.

There is no need for a cutesy offensive plan of attack with Nimrod on the field. Having standout next level game speed, the Bentonville High School talent was taking the top off of 7A Arkansas defenses all season long, and the stats show it. The Tigers produced a 10-1 season in 2020 with their receiver hauling in 36 passes for 770 yards with 12 trips into the end zone. Not only is he fast, but he is big stretching the tape and tipping the scales at 6-3, 180.

Although somehow unranked, Nimrod is elite and the pile of scholarship offers help back up the fact. So far 14 programs have extended scholarship offers knowing he is a difference maker at the collegiate level.

In an RNG first-look interview, Nimrod made his way into the Lab for a fun confab covering his season and recruiting opportunities.

Interview

Chas, I don’t typically start off interviews this way, but how you don’t have 20-plus offers already his beyond me. When college programs truly start finding you, be ready.

Yeah. Yes, sir. (laughs)

Because of your speed and size, you were getting a lot of go or fly routes, call them seams out of the inside receiver spot. What all routes were you running during your junior season?

We’d run a lot of shake routes, curls, and posts because I run past everyone. In practice, we’d run every route on the tree. We’d install it but it is not always called.

That back breaking speed against the defense was also showcased on special teams as a kick returner taking one back to the house. Just how fast are you?

My fastest 40 on laser is a 4.59. Hand-timed it was a 4.47. In the 100, I ran an 11.18 opening as a sophomore. We have a track meet tomorrow, hopefully I run faster than that now.

Which track events are you competing in this year?

The 100, 200, 4×1, long and triple jump.

Busy man.

Yes, sir.

When you wrapped the 2020 season, what were all the things you were doing well allowing for the explosive season?

My strengths were my route running, explosiveness off the ball, and being able to get open all the time.

What have you been working on with your skillset this winter?

This offseason I have been working on my speed, my short-space speed in routes, and getting in and out of cuts faster.

How are you pushing your athleticism, speed, and agility to that next level?

Nothing really except ladder drills, my football workouts, and my track workouts. My track coach is phenomenal. I just listen to him, and it has paid off.

Turning to recruiting. Which schools are showing interest but have not offered yet?

Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Liberty and Baylor. I believe they have reached out to my coaches. I have a handful of Twitter follows and I have been receiving mail from Mississippi State and Tennessee.

How many offers have been given to you?

I have 14 offers.

Nimrod’s Offer Sheet: Arkansas State, Bowling Green, FIU, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, New Mexico, Tulane, Tulsa, Utah State, and Washington State

Impressive. When visits start again this summer are there any programs you might go visit?

Definitely, but I have not decided which ones yet. I will knock out the close ones on unofficial visits and take officials to the ones I am highly interested in.

Chas, it was great putting the background of the player to all the action on film. Thanks for your time today and good luck with your track season.

Thank you, sir.
