What was once a secret in Clovis, California, is now news spreading like a wildfire across the country – Class of 2020 running back Kendall Milton is the real deal. Milton (6-1.5, 205) broke onto the recruiting scene during his freshman season playing at the varsity level, but a breakthrough season as a sophomore with 1,514 yards on 175 carries with 23 touchdowns has college coaches dreaming, as evident by his 22 scholarship offers. The latest offer was extended from Alabama on Wednesday.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I sat down with Buchanan High School’s four-star running back to get a quick update on his recruiting process and insight on his offer from Alabama.

Interview

Kendall, you got yet another big offer from Alabama today, how many offers do you have now?

“I have 22 offers now.”

Congrats.

“Thank you.”

How did Bama offer you?

“One of my coaches – I’m not sure how it went down, but one of my coaches knows Coach (Nick) Saban (head coach) and has been in contact with him about me. The Alabama coaches liked my reel and wanted to contact me. He wanted to talk to me on the phone. I called and they offered me.”

When did they offer, when you were at school?

“No. After our practice.”

How long have you been in contact with them?

“That was my first contact with them.”

Which coach did you speak with when you received the offer?

“Coach Tosh Lupoi (defensive coordinator).”

What did he say that he likes about your game?

“He said I fit the exact shape and build for the usual Bama back, and they want to keep that tradition going. He said I was the best guy in the class to make that happen.”

Very high praise. Did they talk to you about how you would be used within their scheme?

“No. He did mention they want me to make it down for a spring practice so I can meet everyone. He said Coach Saban wants me there.”

Begs the question, any chance you might visit Tuscaloosa this offseason?

“Oh yes. I plan to visit Tuscaloosa.”

Which other schools are showing interest in you but have not offered yet?

“Michigan, Nebraska, and Wisconsin are the main ones.”

You might visit Alabama this offseason, do you have any other upcoming visits planned?

“On Feb. 24, I am going to Arizona State. Over my spring break, I am planning on going to Tallahassee to visit Florida State.”

Kendall, thank for your time today and good luck with your visit to ASU this weekend.

“Thank you.”
