Interview

Terian, when we last spoke, we covered your transfer to Grayson and all the positions you may play; strong and free safety, corner, punt and kick returner, and maybe some touches at quarterback. What have you been doing this spring to condition your body for the 2020 workload?

“I know I will have to be conditioned really well this season; I have focused on that knowing I am going both ways. This offseason I have been working on my offense and heavily on defense, and trying to get stronger. The virus has allowed me to focus on the smaller things we do not normally have time to focus on with our body.”

How are you chopping up the workouts?

“I have different workouts, speed or short distance with my lower body and long distance with upper body. It all depends on the day.”

As a defensive back, what have you been focusing on with your technique this spring?

“Working on my man coverage, and from the safety position coming down. That is harder than playing man at corner. A receiver can go inside or outside in the middle of the field. Safeties get no help from the sideline.”

Where are you seeing the improvements in the work put into your game?

“I see it in my agility, and I am getting faster as I am getting stronger. The way I watch film and Hudl has improved. I have improved how I watch film and look at tendencies.”

Drilling deeper on your workouts, what is your daily routine?

“I wake up early, do a weight training warm up or go to the sand pit. That evening I do some DB drills with guys. I am on two-a-days.”

With recruiting, which schools are showing interest?

“Notre Dame, we try to talk once a week, Northwestern, Virginia – there are a lot of schools that are showing interest that hopefully will be offering soon; Miami, California, and NC State. I am taking all schools seriously, I have not narrowed anything down.”

How many offers do you have?

“I have 19 offers.”

Which programs were the last couple to offer?

“UCF offered yesterday, Indiana, Boston College, Kansas State and Central Michigan.”

Williams’ Offer Sheet: Akron, Boston College, Central Florida, Central Michigan, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Howard, Illinois State, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kentucky, LSU, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Carolina, and Tennessee

Impressive. Once you guys can start taking visits, do you have any that are planned?

“I would love to take some visits if we are given time once the guidelines come out. My plan is to have a Top 10 at the end of the season. I want to visit as many campuses as possible to see what they look like.”

When do you report for team workouts with Grayson?

“On June 8. Our coach will bring out a schedule for us, but we can only have 20 people meeting at once with no equipment; conditioning and weights only.”

It is a start. What has you excited to be back on the field working towards a team goal with the Rams?

“I am so excited to get out there. We push each other to get better; I can feel the love in the air. To win with them will be great. There are no excuses for anyone. We’ve had time to rest, now it is time to work.”

Terian, always great catching up with you. I appreciate your time today.

“Thank you.”
