Interview

Bryson, why did you choose UAB?

“I choose UAB because of the program resurgence and the coaching staff. I also was in love with the school, they’ve showed me love since Day 1.”

What are you trying to improve on for the next level?

“My overall game, body, mind, and footwork are all key aspects for the next four to five years. IMG and Coach Brehens (QB coach) have helped me succeeded every day at those goals.”

What was the mood like playing Mater Dei?

“As far as Mater Dei and California football go, much respect! They played an amazing game that day but we will bounce back.”

After having a 40-game winning streak snapped, what were the growing pains from the loss?

“There were a lot of growing pains from the loss, but we needed them and we will hopefully learn from our mistakes and close out the year winning out.”

What have you learned from being with guys like Kellen Mond (Texas A&M), Shea Patterson (Michigan), Zach Annexstead (Minnesota), and Artur Sitowski (Rutgers) at IMG?

“I’ve learned so much from every guy in that quarterback room. I still talk to Zach every day and, when they have time, the other older quarterbacks as well. The main thing they thought me is how to be a professional on and off the field.”

What is it like playing for legendary coach Kevin Wright?

“It’s an honor and a privilege. He’s so good a not only preparing us for every game to win but also as men after we leave Bradenton. He has taught me so much in my four years here.”

Bryson, thanks for your time today and good luck with the rest of the season.

“Thank you.”
