For some 7v7 teams, all they need is an end zone and a pigskin; tell them the time and place, they will be there ready to compete. During the spring and summer 7v7 season, Texas Fury has traveled throughout the Lone Star State and taken the show on the road routinely making deep runs in tournaments with quarterfinals and championship game appearances. The wealth of talent on the roster helping post the victories is catching the eyes of college scouts leading to a windfall of scholarship offers.

The 7v7 events attended stretches from Dallas and Houston to Atlanta, Las Vegas, Arizona, and Orlando. From a quarterfinal finish at Pylon in Dallas to a runner-up placing at Pylon’s Houston 7v7 event, the team is seeing success beyond state boarders. The skills are translating at college camps with players showcasing their abilities at the SMU Mega Camp, LSU’s Elite Camp, and Houston Baptist’s Mega Camp. Coupled with a visit to Louisiana-Monroe, a five-day stretch from June 3-8th produced 20-plus offers for Texas Fury players.

The Texas Fury players drawing the offers includes 2024 The Woodlands (TX) quarterback Mabrey Mettauer, four-star 2023 Centennial High School (CA) cornerback Aaron Williams, 2023 Harker Heights (TX) running back Re’Shaun Sanford, three-star 2023 Centennial (CA) receiver Malachi Riley, and 2022 Life Christian Academy (VA) linebacker Reid Pulliam. Another standout on the roster is 2022 Ragin’ Cajun tight end commit Terrance Carter out of Harker Heights (TX). The LSU Elite Camp proved fruitful for Mettauer hauling in a scholarship offer from the Tigers raising his total to five.

Some of the rising stars on the Texas Fury roster to watch for includes 2022 linebacker Jeremy Naborne, 2023 corner Cory Huff, 2023 cornerback Jalen Menny, 2022 defensive back Nahamani Harris, 2022 receiver Tr’Darious Taylor, 2023 defensive back Zavion Rangston, 2023 athlete Brandon Ward, 2023 receiver Keenan Jackson, and 2023 offensive lineman Cross Tucker.
