Haughton High School had one of the best seasons in school as the Buccaneers finished 11-3 and made it all the way to the state semifinals but unfortunately suffered a heartbreaking loss at Destrehan (27-17). One of the main reasons for the Buccaneers success was the play of their lockdown defense, that only gave up 14.6 points a game and only let four opponents score more than 20 points against them. One star on this tremendous unit is linebacker Jake St. Andre.

St. Andre racked 145 total tackles including 17 for a loss and five sacks during his junior season. After the season, St. Andre received numerous individual honors including first team All-District. This 6’1”, 220-pound, defensive general possesses a great ability to read plays knowing where the ball is going, then utilizes his quickness and athleticism to make big tackles all over the field.

The Class of 2021 recruit currently has two college offers and is almost drawing interest from several other big time college programs including Air Force, Navy and Southern Miss. St. Andre is not only a star on the football field but also in the classroom where he currently holds a 3.8 GPA and scored a 26 on his ACT test.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with the linebacker star to talk about his junior season at Haughton and get an update on his recruiting process.
