Noah Mclendon is already making a name for himself at Bishop Sycamore High School in Columbus. In just four games, the 6’2″, 190-pound, dual-threat playmaker threw for 322 yards and two touchdowns while completing 21-of-26 passes and adding 92 yards and one more score on the ground.

This young prospect has a strong and accurate arm which he unleashes on throws all over the field. Mclendon also has good field vision and footwork. The Class of 2023 recruit is working hard both on and off the practice to showcase his skills as he patiently awaits his first college offer. He has set goals to accomplish during the offseason including looking to showcase his skills at different camps.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Noah to talk about his sophomore season at Bishop Sycamore and his plans for the offseason.

Interview

Noah, how would you grade your individual performance during your sophomore season?
I would grade my sophomore season as a C. I felt I didn’t fulfill all the expectations I set for myself.

What are your strengths on the football field?
I feel my accuracy and being able to read a defense are my biggest strengths.

What would you say was your best game and why?
The game against St. Edward, because I feel I achieve the most in that game. I had a good time figuring out their defenses and making good throws.

What kind of offensive scheme does your school run?
We run a spread offense.

How do your skills fit into this scheme?
I feel this scheme works great for me because of my ability to both run and throw the football.

How would you describe what kind of teammate you are?
I’m a player that wants to see all my guys succeed and I want to win at all cost.

How would you describe what kind of player you are?
I’m a dual-threat weapon that enjoys having fun with my teammates.

Would you consider yourself a dual-threat or prostyle quarterback?
Definitely a dual-threat.

Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?
Patrick Mahomes. I see myself modeling after the way he uses his legs and still looks for throws. That’s how I want to play.

What do you like most about playing at your high school?
I love that we are a big family.

Which schools are showing recruiting interest in you?
Miami-Ohio, Akron, Arizona State, Iowa State, Michigan State, Florida, Cal and Toledo.

What is your favorite subject and why?
Math because I like to challenge myself.

What are your goals for the offseason?
I want to gain strength and get faster.

Do you have a favorite quote?
“Your talent determines what you can do. Your motivation determines how much you are willing to do. Your attitude determines how well you do it.”-Lou Holtz

Thank you for your time.
