Quick interview with Texas Class of 2016 WR Kofi Boateng

Arlington-Lamar High School posted a lot of points on the board in 2014 thanks in-part to wide receiver Kofi Boateng. The 6’1”, 180 pound, receiver snatched 66 passes out of the air for 1,023 yards with 15 touchdowns. Showing versatility he added 158 yards on the ground off 14 carries with another two touchdowns to round out his junior campaign.

Boateng is a star recruit in the Lone Star State with 26 offers to top programs from around the nation including: Arizona State, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Illinois, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas Tech, Washington, Wisconsin, Cal, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Colorado State, Houston, Iowa, and Iowa State.

In a previous in-depth interview we covered all things football with Kofi but wanted to know more. In an ongoing Recruiting News Guru “getting to know you” series we put Boateng through another set of questions hoping to learn more about the talented wide receiver.

Question & Answer

Kofi, what is your favorite movie?

“It has to be the Hunger Games.”

Who is your favorite actor?

“Brad Pitt.”

Do you have a favorite TV show?

Very Odd Parents (Nickelodeon).”

What is your favorite book?

The Hunger Games, I read the whole series then liked the movies.”

What is your favorite type of music?

“Rap and Hip-Hop.”

Who is your favorite musician?

“I don’t have a favorite, I listen to everything.”

Do you have a favorite song?

“I don’t have a favorite. I have a lot that I like.”

What music do you listen to getting hyped for a game?

“I listen to Meek Mill.”

Kofi soars for reception

What hobbies do you have outside of football?

“I hang out with my friends. I enjoy spending time with my friends.”

Do you speak any foreign languages?

“I took Spanish for three years, but I would not say I qualify as Spanish speaking (laughs).”

What is your favorite type of food?

“Spaghetti.”

Do you have a favorite game system?

“I like Xbox.”

What is your favorite game on Xbox?

“NBA2K.”

Do you have a favorite subject in school?

“Math.”

Who is your favorite all-time athlete?

“Herschel Walker. I saw all the adversity he went through and he’s an all-time great running back from Georgia.”

What is your favorite holiday?

“Christmas.”

If you could be a superhero which superhero would you be?

“Umm, I’m trying to think. I’ll go with the Green Lantern.”

Why Green Lantern?

“You don’t see many weaknesses. He can use his imagination to do anything he wants.”

Do you have a favorite professional sports team?

“The Golden State Warriors.”
