The Crimson Tide added another four-star talent to their 2017 class landing Baton Rouge linebacker Christopher Allen on Sunday.

Allen is part of a 14-1 Southern Lab (*correction made from University Lab) team that has made a run into the Louisiana 1A playoffs facing Ascension Episcopal on Friday. The 6-4, 234 pound, playmaker made the rounds to SEC schools during the off-season including a spring visit to Tuscaloosa followed by a camp attendance in June. Arkansas, Florida, and Miami also received unofficial visits from Allen. Allen was around the 20 offer mark when he committed siding with Bama over teams like LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Texas, and Mississippi State.

The Under Armour All-American Game invitee is the second commitment Alabama has received in the month of November following five-star offensive guard Jedrick Wills’ pledge on Nov. 15. Allen is the first Louisiana product to commit to Bama’s 2017 class. All four of Alabama’s linebacker commits are considered four-star recruits.

247Sports rates Alabama’s 2017 class No. 1 in the nation. Rivals also ranks Alabama’s class No. 1 overall with five five-star recruits and 14 four-star players.
