Overview
Haughton opened the 2014 season on a eight-game winning streak before losing three out of their final four games. The Buccaneers lost in the second round of the playoffs to Hahnville 28-14.

On August 10, Head Coach Guin announced that this will be his last year at the school adding a great sense of urgency to the upcoming season. Coach Guin has spent the last 28 years, 16 as head coach, at Haughton and is the all-time winningest coach in Buccaneers’’ team history.

Haughton looks to avenge their two regular season losses when they travel to Byrd on Oct. 9 and then travel to Parkway on Oct. 23.

Offense
The Buccaneers will to have replace two-year starter Will Haines at quarterback in 2015. Haines is now attending Southern Arkansas University. Darius Brooks, who has been the back-up the last couple of years, looks to take the reins from Haines.

Kei’Untre Normandin, who ran for 828 yards, returns at running back for Haughton. The team’s leading returning receiver is Antonio Woodfork who caught 25 passes for 303 yards in 2014. Another offensive weapon is senior D’kovin Ware who ran for just over 400 yards.

The offensive line is led by 6’4″, 338 pound, junior Josh Cooper who has received an offer from TCU.

Defense
Haughton returns six starters from a defense that gave up just over 22 points a game in 2014. The Buccaneer will need to rely on these returning starters if they want to have a lockdown defense in 2015.

Senior Chance Brown and junior Terrence Sweeney are the most experienced returning defense linemen. Junior Duncan Smith, 6’0″, 186 pounds, is the leader of the linebackers. Smith was selected honorable mention All-District in 2014. Seniors Jeremiah Wilson and TJ Sweeney are two returning defensive back starters. Sweeney has been starting since his freshman year.
