Tennessee Pulls 3-Star 2017 Fort Myers LB Shanon Reid

The good news for Tennessee fans on the recruiting trail continued this week getting a second big commitment when Fort Myers 2017 linebacker Shanon Reid picked the Volunteers as his top school.
The Volunteers added a highly productive linebacker to their 2017 class with Reid. The 6-1.5, 205 pound, outside linebacker had 95 total tackles during his junior season with Dunbar High School upping his game with 117 during his senior season. Reid had a bigger edge presence during the 2016 season raising his game from eight tackles for a loss last year to 15 in 2016.
Reid was one of the more highly recruited players in the nation with 30 offers extended. Some of the teams hoping to sign Reid included Clemson, Florida State, Arizona, South Florida, Minnesota, and West Virginia. Official visits to Michigan (Oct. 1), Iowa State (Nov. 18), and LSU (Dec. 3) were taken but Tennessee’s hosting of the Florida talent on Nov. 12 sealed the deal.
The Volunteers have had a good week on the recruiting trail landing five-star in-state offensive tackle Trey Smith on Monday followed by Reid’s commitment on Wednesday. Reid made his announcement quick and easy on Twitter posting a picture of himself in a Tennessee jersey writing, “Vols national [sic] Stand up.”
