Updated: 18 College Football Games Interrupted So Far in Week 12

Given the circumstances, college football programs are doing the best they can to piecemeal the 2020 season to the finish line but frustrating setbacks continue to happen. Last week 15 FBS games were cancelled and/or postponed and another 13 have already been halted for Week 12.
As games are being cancelled, the oddity is two have already been completed. Buffalo was able to topple Bowling Green 42-17 while Kent State took down Akron 69-35 Tuesday night. But the rest of college football this week has the feel of a wait-and-see approach to other games being played with teams dangerously close to hitting conference-set COVID protocols.
One of the teams having a hard time are the Hurricanes. Miami’s program was disheveled enough their final three games of the season have been rescheduled. The Hurricanes were to face Georgia Tech on Saturday but will now see the Yellowjackets on Dec. 19 after traveling to Wake Forest and hosting North Carolina. Miami grabbed a 25-24 win over Virginia Tech last week with 13 players out and won a 44-41 thriller in Carter-Finley Stadium while missing 11.
Perhaps the most interesting game of the week that will be missed is seeing Mississippi’s high-powered offense take on No. 5 Texas A&M in College Station. This is the second consecutive game the Aggies will miss rescheduling last week’s showdown against Tennessee for Dec. 12. After the SEC added Dec. 19 as a game date to make up for any postponed games missed, A&M’s opportunity against the Rebels is expected to played then.
On the bright side, there are 16 games featuring ranked teams set to play this week with three showdowns matching Top 25 squads; No. 14 Oklahoma State vs. No. 18 Oklahoma, No. 10 Wisconsin vs. No. 19 Northwestern, and No. 3 Ohio State vs. No. 9 Indiana.
