The end of season college football awards are being handed out right and left with one of the long-time staples of postseason honors being the Associated Press All-American teams. On Sunday, the AP released their three teams with Alabama and Baylor topping all schools with three first-team selections each.

No surprise to see Heisman Trophy Award winner Derrick Henry as a first-team running back but instead of fellow Heisman contender Christian McCaffrey being a first-team selection at running back he was name first-team all-purpose with LSU sophomore tailback Leonard Fournette taking the honors.

A few surprises not selected:

Illinois safety/linebacker Clayton Fejedelem. Fejedelem had 140 tackles, second best in FBS.

Iowa cornerback Desmond King. King was second in FBS in interceptions with eight, one behind Lurry, and had 20 passes defended and 12 passes broken up.

There can only be one quarterback listed and a couple of worthy guys were excluded; Washington State’s Luke Falk, Bowling Green’s Matt Johnson, Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott, and Western Kentucky’s Brandon Doughty.

At wide receiver, Tulsa’s Keyarris Garrett had as good of a season as anyone pullind in 88 passes for 1,451 yards with seven touchdowns.
