The Commodores are starting to see sparks on the recruiting trail picking up their second October commit when three-star linebacker Dimitri Moore pledged on Thursday.

Moore has been an active linebacker for Cedar Hill High School coming up with at least 37 tackles through seven games of stats posted for his junior year. The 6-2, 195 pound, talent also had five tackles for a loss, four sacks, a forced fumble, fumble recovery, and blocked a punt in 2015 helping the Longhorns to a 9-2 season.

The Longhorns are having a similar kind of season in 2016 putting up a 6-2 mark against Texas 6A competition so far. Stats posted through seven games has Moore with 56 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, three sacks, and an interception.

Landing Moore was a big win for Vanderbilt keeping him away from Arkansas, Kansas State, SMU, Missouri, Minnesota, Iowa State, Colorado, Indiana, Utah, and Texas Tech offers. In all, at least 22 teams have reported offers on the table for Moore.

Moore received his offer from Vanderbilt on July 19 taking his official visit on Sept. 30. Vandy fans found out about Moore’s decision via Twitter with a post reading, “I am a limitless star that will conquer and prevail! Jesus my anchor, lets go Commodores (all caps). #GoldRush17. Next Stop-Nashville, TN!”

The post was accompanied with a statement:
