When the 2015 season kicked off, Centennial High School built the perfect beast on offense and defense. The Huskies dominated their California, and Utah, counterparts winning the southern section on the way to a 14-1 year. The only tough spot on an otherwise perfect season was a touchdown short loss (28-21) to eventual MaxPreps national champs De La Salle (Concord).

The Centennial offense was a blur marching up and down the field scoring a total of 812 points on the season or an eye popping 54 points per game average. The Huskies were blessed with no injuries under center allowing Anthony Catalano to guide the team from start to finish. When the Southern Utah signee was not filling up the stat sheet with 2,955 yards passing along with 31 touchdowns against just five picks, a sophomore with a world of potential was out on the field gaining valuable snaps while keeping the momentum going – Tanner McKee.

McKee, listed at 6’6”, 210 pounds, completed 65 percent of his passes racking up 709 yards on 50 completions with nine touchdowns tossed without a pick. Teams like BYU, Stanford, and Texas A&M are already interested to see what the tall pocket passer with a big arm can do when the keys to the Centennial offense are turned over to him in 2016.

In a Recruiting News Guru exclusive interview, I got a couple of minutes with McKee while he was taking in the UCLA Bruins spring game discussing his 2015 season, offseason workouts, and received a recruiting news update.
