Last season, Coach Terrence Isaac Sr. from Dallas, Texas, took over a Green Oaks team that had went through a disastrous 1-9 season in 2016. In 2017, Coach Isaac instilled a new work ethic and new offense into the program and led the Giants to a 3-7 season. Green Oaks started 2-3 before winning just one of their final five games. In those seven losses, Green Oaks lost by 11 points or less in four of them. With his first season under his belt, Coach Isaac has even higher expectations for his Giants team in 2018.

Green Oaks’ 2018 Offense

In 2017, Green Oaks scored 22.8 points a game by using their air attack offense. Freshman quarterback Keith Baker burst onto the scene last season by throwing 1,780 yards and nine touchdowns and will once again be under center for the Giants. Junior Ja’me’s Sanders will star in the backfield after leading the Giants with 592 rushing yards and seven rushing scores last year.

The wide receiving core will feature seniors Cameron Thomas, Khyrie Poole, Davion Sanders and sophomore Terrence Isaac Jr. Poole will also spend some time in the backfield. Davion Sanders is the team’s leading returning receiver as he snagged 38 passes for 666 yards and five touchdowns. The offensive line will be anchored by seniors Kevin Wilson, Rovell Carter, and Chaz Crawford. While describing his offense, Coach Isaac said, “We’ll be more balanced then last year.”

Green Oaks’ 2018 Defense

Last year, the Giants gave up an average of 29.5 points a game. Juniors Christopher Larry Jr. and Joseph Mason along with sophomore Jaden Moore will be featured up front on the defensive line. Moore had 22 total tackles and two sacks last year. The linebacking core will be led by junior D’ante Johns and Damien Cook. The secondary will be locked by junior twins La’sean and Da’sean Thomas. Da’sean Thomas had 18 total tackles last season. While talking about his defensive unit Coach Isaac stated, “I think we have improved tremendously from last year. They had a great summer. They got faster and stronger in the weight room.”
