4-Star Pennsylvania 2017 DE Donovan Jeter Commits to Notre Dame

Pennsylvania Class of 2017 standout Donovan Jeter moved up his commitment date from Halloween to Monday not wanting to wait to commit to Notre Dame.

Jeter became one of the more highly recruited defensive ends in the nation playing for Beaver Falls High School. Going up against 3A competition, the 6-5, 250 pound, defensive end was a dominating force on the field. During Jeter’s junior season, the Tigers went 9-2 and are 2-1 to start the 2016 campaign.

Jeter had 30-plus scholarship offers with teams like Michigan, Nebraska, Georgia, Miami, Stanford, Ole Miss, Michigan State, South Carolina, UCLA, and Florida seeking to land his commitment. As of July 27, Jeter had a final five schools of Alabama, Pitt, Penn State, Ohio State, and Tennessee. The Fighting Irish made a lot of headway over the last two months pushing their way into becoming a leader.

The recruiting process for the four-star talent ended with a post on Twitter reading, “Want to thank everyone that helped with the decision.. but here it is.” A statement followed:

The Fighting Irish now has 18 recruits to their 2017 class. Of the 18, 12 are ranked as four-star players by 247Sports. The class has a national ranking of No. 6.
