When watching Mobile Christian High School take the gridiron on defense, it does not take long for the trained and untrained eye to find its way to No. 9. The rising talent supporting the shoulder pads and helmet in the 6-5, 230 pound, frame is a blur constantly in the backfield either putting pressure on the opposition’s quarterback, taking the would be gunslinger to the ground, or ending a running play before it ever has a chance for positive yards. Whether intentional or unintentional, Andres Fox has a way to draw positive attention his way.

Only a transfer rule could slow down Fox during his junior season. A switch from Faith Academy to Mobile Christian Academy limited the Alabama product to eight games in 2016. The eight games played for Fox proved to be critical for the Leopards surpassing their 11-2 run in 2015 by making a 3A state title run in 2016 with Fox dominating in time for the playoffs. In eight games played, Fox racked up an estimated 26 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and five sacks.

The budding talent has not gone unnoticed by recruiting sites with Rivals and 247Sports starting Fox off as a three-star player. The three-star ranking might as well be a four-star or better by college recruiters standards. Early in the recruiting process Fox already has 13 offers with teams like Auburn, Penn State, Toledo, Troy, Bowling Green, Jacksonville State, Southern Miss, Tulane, UAB, Western Kentucky, North Carolina State, and Arizona wanting him on their roster as part of the 2018 class.

In a Recruiting News Guru stylized interview, I sat down with Fox covering his junior season while getting an update on his recruiting status.
