EMERSON, Ga. – As far as breakout seasons go, Bear Bachmeier’s was about as impressive as it gets. The dual threat from Murrieta Valley High School (Cali.) loaded up the stat sheet earning four-star status with 17 offers following. The most recent scholarship came from the Crimson Tide after a camp performance. There are options to work with either Notre Dame or Oregon before the summer months give way to preseason practices.

Not satisfied with throwing for 2,853 yards and 26 touchdowns coupled with 644 rush yards off 47 carries with 18 more scores, Bachmeier is hard at work on his craft.

“I have been working on my pocket presence, being more deliberate in the pocket, and my overall general mechanics as well,” Bachmeier stated.

The style of offense with the Nighthawks was explained, “We run a multi-personnel offense, we like to go fast. We will air it out, but we have a good line, we can pound the rock as well.”

How collegiate head coaches like to move the ball downfield is a factor in Bachmeier’s recruitment.

“Offensive scheme, I do like what coach Riley is doing at USC,” Bachmeier shared. “I am definitely looking at offensive scheme as one of my factors for the school that I will pick.”

With Class of 2023 older brother (WR) Tiger signed at Stanford, the only other visit taken this offseason was to Tuscaloosa.

Bear Bachmeier at TheShow (July 2023).

“The only visits I took throughout the spring and summer was to Alabama and I did go up to Stanford this spring,” Bachmeier said. “I really like Stanford’s campus. When I went to Alabama, I got to talk to coach (Nick) Saban and saw Tuscaloosa as well. That was cool.”

While in Tuscaloosa, Bachmeier competed at one of the Crimson Tide’s camps.

“When I was at Alabama, I camped there,” Bachmeier stated. “It was great competing there. They offered me, so it was really cool.”

Asked the feedback given working with Alabama’s coaching staff, Bachmeier replied, “They liked my arm talent and my quick release, they said I could be faster with my footwork.”

On receiving the offer from one of college football’s best, Bachmeier shared, “It was big time. Obviously, Alabama is a high-end program. I am definitely excited that they showed interest and offered me.”

One date with two possibilities is leading to a difficult decision for Bachmeier.

“I’m narrowing it down either going to Notre Dame or Oregon for a July 29 workout that they both have,” Bachmeier said. “I’m trying to decide to go to either Oregon or Notre Dame.”

Four teams are edging out in front in the contact department for the four-star.

Michigan does a great job,” Bachmeier stated. “Oregon is really high on me; they call my coach pretty often and want me to hit them up. Stanford is in contact as well along with Alabama right now too.”

More information was provided on the relationship with Oregon’s coaching staff.

“I love coach (Will) Stein (OC/QB),” Bachmeier shared. “We’ve developed a great relationship. I haven’t been to Eugene yet, I definitely have to take a trip up there. I am excited to see what coach Stein does there.”

Michigan is high on Bachmeier’s talents, enough to send QB coach Kirk Campbell down twice this offseason.

“The guy who offered me is gone now, but coach Campbell has visited my school twice; he is a great guy,” Bachmeier said. “They win games, and that is exciting to me.”

However the July 29 decision goes down, there is one visit Bachmeier wants to set on the schedule for this fall.

“I definitely want to take a trip to Tuscaloosa this fall,” Bachmeier stated. “I want to see the SEC atmosphere. I want to see what the SEC has to offer, and I want to see the environment that Alabama has.”
