On Wednesday Alabama pulled a rising star safety recruit out of Georgia securing Xavier McKinney to their 2017 recruiting class.

McKinney, a standout safety, has helped Roswell High School start off 3-0 this season picking up seven tackles and two interceptions. Recruiting interest in McKinney for the Crimson Tide has been ongoing since the offseason offering the Georgia recruit in mid-July.

Other programs to offer McKinney (6’1”, 185) include Clemson, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Tennessee. Alabama has hosted McKinney on multiple occasions including over the weekend for the Ole Miss game.

Alabama is off to a great start with their 2017 recruiting class pulling talent from five different states. McKinney is the first defensive player only prospect Bama has landed to their 2017 class thus far.
