The recruiting haul for the Crimson Tide got a little bit better on Thursday when Fort Lauderdale (FL) area safety Daniel Wright committed to Alabama. The win on the recruiting trail was yet another big one for Bama.

Anderson played his way into a consensus four-star ranking with Boyd Anderson High School helping lead the Cobras to a 7-3 record in 2016 against 6A competition during his senior year. The 6-1, 187 pound, defensive standout was one of the top ranked safeties in the nation earning an overall spot at No. 15 with 247Sports and No. 17 with Rivals.

College coaches love the versatility Wright brings to the field defending the pass and stuffing the run. Over 30 different programs extended offers including Georgia, Miami, Clemson, Florida, Texas, West Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, Tennessee, and Michigan.

On June 15, Florida State earned Wright’s commitment during a camp in Tallahassee. The commitment to one of the top programs in the nation did not stop the Tide from pursuing Wright. The Under Armour All-American took an official visit to Tuscaloosa on Nov. 12. In-home visits from Mario Cristobal on Dec. 2 and from head coach Nick Saban on Dec. 6 helped flip Wright away from the Seminoles.

Wright posted his decision on Twitter writing “#Rolltide accompanied with a statement:
