Alabama three-star 2024 CB Tevis Metcalf drops top four schools

Ask any high school player in the country, even most five-stars, and they will tell you that they are underrated. There are true occasions when a player is being overlooked, and Tevis Metcalf is one of them. For some lucky school, the overlooked 2024 three-star corner, a recent transfer to Parker High School (Birmingham, Ala.), is coming their way.

Metcalf’s top schools: Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, and Georgia Tech.

THE BREAKDOWN

Arkansas: “My brother (TJ Metcalf) goes there. We played for seven years together; that is a factor you can’t dismiss, us playing on the field together. That brings a lot of motivation being able to play together and it helps with team chemistry. Coach Sam Pittman and Marcus Woodson (co-DC), they are good coaches. I have known them for a minute. Fayetteville is pretty cool to me.”

Auburn: “I really like coach (Zac) Etheridge (DB) and coach (Wesley) McGriff (CB). When I am there, I feel part of the team. I like their facilities. Coach (Hugh) Freeze, he coached my cousin (DK Metcalf). My cousin gave me a great review on him. I know some of the committed players there too, they say it is good. I think I can play there.”

Colorado: “Colorado, they have been recruiting me hard since they were at Jackson State. They were one of my first offers. They have shown a lot of interest in me. They let me know before they left that I had that offer. They called me to let me know they have a spot for me. Coach Deion (Sanders) is there, that is another thing.”

Georgia Tech: “They were recruiting me and my brother before he signed. When we visited, I thought they could use my help. I could go there and do my thing and help. I really like their DB coach, coach (Travares) Tillman. Of course, the academics are great there too.”

Asked what will separate that one school from the other three when it comes time to make a decision, Metcalf replied, “Which school will develop me the best for the next level, which school will get me the most physically and mentally prepared, the academic plan, and a place where I really feel that I can play as a freshman; I am early enrolling.”

No dates have been set yet, but Metcalf did confirm that he will officially visit each of his top schools.

Metcalf played his junior season at Pinson Valley High School colliding against 6A Alabama offenses. The three-star was in lock down mode picking off four passes and broke up seven attempts allowing just one reception all season.
