Alabama’s Reggie Ragland Earns SEC Defensive Player of the Week Honors after Arkansas Game

Reggie Ragland’s track towards earning All-American honors was not diminished after playing the Arkansas Razorbacks in Week 6. The senior was all over the field making his presence felt earning SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts.

Ragland was a key contributor helping limit the Razorbacks to 220 yards of total offense in a 27-14 home win. He led the Crimson Tide with eight tackles, seven solo, forced a fumble, broke up a pass, had two quarterback hurries, and registered a sack. Arkansas’ running game was stifled to 44 net yards on 25 carries. The Razorbacks’ leading rusher, junior tailback Alex Collins, was held to a season-low 26 yards on 12 carries.

The Alabama defense has been led in tackles five times by Ragland this season. His 2015 stat line includes 50 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 1.0 sacks, 3 passes defended, 3 pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles.

No. 10 Alabama hits the road in Week 7 traveling to College Station to take on the No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies.
