Arizona State continued their proactive approach to the 2018 recruiting class on Tuesday landing stud junior college linebacker Kendrick Catis. Catis is the third junior college prospect added and third linebacker committed to the growing talent haul.

Catis made waves during his freshman season with Kansas’ Highland Community College compiling 62 stops, 5.5 tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks in stats posted through 11 games. The jersey number may have changed from 2016 to ’17 but the results are still the same for Catis on the field. He is off to a great start to his sophomore season helping Highland to a 1-1 record. The 6-1, 228 pound, play-maker has 15 total tackles, six solo, so far this season.

ASU won the recruiting war for Catis over reported offers from Arizona, Colorado, Southern Mississippi, Marshall, Arkansas State, and Washington State. The Sun Devils offered the Deerfield (FL) area high school product during the spring landing his commitment on Catis’ birthday.

The Sun Devils linebacker corps is shaping up to be a nasty one. Catis and Reggie Hughes are both ranked as four-star players and Mission Viejo’s Christian LaValle, a three-star, is equally as talented.
