Arizona landed their first two defensive linemen in the 2017 recruiting class on Wednesday getting hard commitments from tackle Kurtis Brown and end Kylan Wilborn.

Brown did a little bit of everything for Liberty High School in Bakersfield (CA) during his junior season lining up as a tight end and defensive end. Brown received a couple of handoffs gaining some tough short yards and even hauled in a 30-yard touchdown pass but made his mark on defense coming up with a team-high 96 tackles in 13 games. The 6’3”, 260 pound, talent also had eight tackles for a loss and six sacks rounding out his season.

Wilborn, like Brown, was a two-way player doing all he could for Notre Dame High School in the San Fernando Valley in 2015. Wilborn picked up 185 yards on the ground off 35 carries with three scores and was a force coming off the end for the Knights.

Brown was a nice recruiting win for the Wildcats fighting off reported offers from Colorado, Oregon State, Purdue, San Diego State, San Jose State, Nevada, Fresno State, Colorado State, and Washington State. Wilborn had offers from Hawaii and Idaho before committing to Arizona.

The Wildcats now have four verbal commitments to their 2017 recruiting class.
