Four official visits were set, three have been taken thus far for Southside High School’s (Fort Smith, Ark.) three-star offensive lineman Kobe Branham (6-6, 320). SMU, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and Arkansas have been the contending teams with that list narrowed down to two ahead of one last paid for trip.

The time spent with SMU was covered.

“It was good,” Branham said. “SMU really impressed me. Of all my offers, I wasn’t as high on SMU until I went there. Their football program and academics really impressed me.”

A longstanding relationship got Branham up to Stillwater for an official.

“Oklahoma State, I have been talking to them for a long time,” Branham stated. “I have been up there six times. They were one of the early teams to reach out to me, I knew a lot about them. Their facilities and coaching staff are great.”

After extended time with the Rebels in Oxford, they are officially in the running.

“Ole Miss, I put them in my top two,” Branham shared. “It is down to Arkansas or Ole Miss. Going there and talking to coach (John) Garrison, their o-line coach, I have built a great relationship with him. Coach Lane Kiffin is a great guy. Their facilities are great, and the town atmosphere is great.”

The three-star prospect spoke about why he’s excited to visit the Razorbacks this weekend.

“I am pretty excited to go up there,” Branham said. “I have only been there for a Junior Day and their spring game; you don’t get to see much on those visits. I am ready to make a relationship with the coaching staff.”

Going into his official with the Hogs, Branham was asked if there were any differences between the contending SEC squads.

“It is hard to answer that, I haven’t seen enough of Arkansas to pick out the different things,” Branham stated. “I don’t know much about Arkansas right now.”

Asked what the separation between the Hogs and Rebels in his final decision will be, Branham replied, “Probably the relationship built with the players and the coaches, the atmosphere, academics, and stuff like that.”

Branham plans to announce his verbal commitment on June 26.
