On Monday, the SEC released their football schedules for all conference teams. Much of the suspense for Razorback Nation was finding out in what order in-conference games lined up.

Arkansas’ non-conference games are not necessarily marquee with the exception of Big 12, and former Southwest Conference foe, TCU. The Horned Frogs return the favor of a home-and-home series heading up to Fayetteville after hosting the Hogs this season in Game 2. Other than TCU, the Hogs get FCS Division-I afterthought in Florida A&M to start the season. The Rattlers finished 1-10 in 2015.

The Hogs get an unusual early season bye week after TCU before facing Texas A&M. After the Aggies, the Hogs face another Aggies team in New Mexico State. New Mexico State finished 3-9 in 2015 as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.

South Carolina rolls back onto the Hogs after last playing the Gamecocks in 2013. Arkansas owns the all-time record against their SEC East rival with a 13-9 mark. The Hogs getting South Carolina in Year 2 of the Will Muschamp era which could favor Arkansas.

After South Carolina, the Hogs go on a three-game run against SEC West competition in Alabama, Auburn, and Ole Miss, three really tough games. The backend of the schedule is broken up with the last non-conference game of the season against Coastal Carolina, a FCS program but a good FCS program. The Chanticleers went 9-3 in 2015 making the playoffs. By the time Arkansas plays Coastal Carolina, the Chanticleers will officially be a Division-I program as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.

The final three games of the season are nothing new for Arkansas fans over the past couple of years, LSU, Mississippi State, and Missouri. One thing that maybe new for Arkansas fans going to Death Valley in 2017, the head coach on the Tigers sidelines. Time will tell.

The schedule plays favorably for the Razorbacks all in all. Only two back-to-back road games coming against South Carolina and Alabama. The in-season non-conference games are spaced out well enough to give the Hogs a breather in between SEC games against Texas A&M and South Carolina and Ole Miss and LSU.
