Recruiting at the collegiate level is a year round job and then some. The Razorbacks came up short at cornerback on National Signing Day in early February but added a needed safety expected to contribute immediately on Tuesday in Britto Tutt.

Tutt comes to Arkansas from Academy of Richmond in Augusta (GA) via Ventura Community College. During his senior season with the Musketeers, Tutt was a two-way star rushing 37 times for 300 yards with two scores and caught 40 passes for 697 yards with seven additional touchdowns. On defense, Tutt was credited with 42 tackles, 21 solo, and five interceptions.

Taking his talents to the JUCO level, the 6’2”, 184 pound, athlete helped lead Ventura to an 8-3 record in 2015 winning their final five games of the season closing strong. During his freshman campaign he had 40 tackles, 26 solo, two tackles for a loss, four interceptions, six passes broken up, and one fumble recovery.

Recruiting interest for Tutt picked up in mid-March with Arkansas and Oregon State reportedly offering on March 18. Other teams extending an offer included Hawaii, Indiana State, and Louisiana Tech.

Tutt is expected to help replace graduate Rohan Gaines while teaming with Josh Liddell in the Hogs secondary. Arkansas signed three safeties in the 2016 class in Deon Edwards, Micahh Smith, and Alexy Jean-Baptiste but Jean-Baptiste is expected to move to linebacker once on campus.
