Auburn Lands Fourth DE to 2016 Class Hauling in North Carolina’s Nick Coe

Auburn may not have had success on the field Saturday against Alabama but the Tigers have been highly successful on the recruiting trail of late adding five verbal commitments to their 2016 recruiting class in the month of November. The newest recruit to the list is North Carolina defensive end Nick Coe.
Coe, listed at 6’5.5”, 270 pounds, helped Asheboro High School to a 10-3 record this year after a standout junior season. In 2014, Coe registered 70 tackles and 19 sacks following up a promising sophomore season with 40 stops and six sacks. The senior ended the 2015 with 68 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, seven sacks, and three forced fumbles.
The offer sheet for Coe is all over the map with teams like Old Dominion, East Carolina, and Charlotte offering as well as Florida State, Miami, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. In June, Coe camped with the Tar Heels and then visited the Auburn campus in late July listing the Tigers as one of his leaders. FSU offered in early August with the Seminoles hosting Coe for an official on Nov. 14.

The Tigers now have 17 verbal commitments to their 2016 class with an early lean on defense with nine commitments, six along the defensive front.
