Auburn Secures 5-Star In-State SDE Marlon Davidson

The Will Muschamp effect has taken affect with Auburn landing stud 5-star defensive end Marlon Davidson.
Davidson, listed at 6’3”, 275 pounds, is not only one of the best recruits in the state of Alabama but across the nation. Nearing 20 offers, Davidson was courted by some of the top teams in the nation that included Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Arizona State, Kentucky, Clemson, and Georgia. Auburn had one thing all of the other programs did not have, a defensive coordinator like Muschamp and a brother on staff. Kenneth Carter left the decision up to his younger brother but many believed Auburn was the top choice all along.
Davidson camped with Michigan and South Alabama this summer as well as at Georgia. The talented end also made his way to Tuscaloosa but made multiple trips to Auburn meeting with the Tigers’ staff.
Davidson transferred in the offseason from Madison to Greenville High School.
Auburn’s class now has 13 verbal commitments with Davidson being the highest ranked of the group. Other standouts include LB Tre Threat, ATH Stephen Davis Jr., CB John Broussard, and WR Elijah Stove.
