Bentonville continued their winning ways Friday night topping Fort Smith Southside 28-14 thanks in-part to three Kasey Ford touchdowns.

Ford completed 17-of-22 passes for 237 yards with two passing touchdowns and one receiving. The three touchdowns all came in the second half as the Tigers turned on the heat against Southside. The senior quarterback hit Matt Crenshaw for a 3-yard score midway through the third quarter and then connected with Clay Barganier on a 59-yard play just before the end of the third frame.

In the first half Bentonville road the coattails of running back Jacob Clark. Clark punched a first quarter touchdown in from four yards out and then tied the score at 14-all just before halftime with a five yard run.

The play many will remember was the touchdown reception Ford had on a 5-yard pass from Chase Hunter on a trick play. Ford walked away from behind center when the ball was snapped to Clark, who pitched it to Chase Hunter with Hunter passing it to Ford for the score.

The game was tight until the third quarter but could not get much traction against the stingy Tigers’ defense. Southside quarterback Cooper Johnson had two touchdown passes in the game connecting with Parker Dixon on a 43-yard touchdown in the first quarter and Evan Simpson on a 14-yard score in the second.

Senior Bentonville safety Logan Darby put the game out of reach late with an 80-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Next week Bentonville (4-0) travels Fort Smith Northside while Southside (2-2) hits the road again heading to Fayetteville (4-0), a 46-19 winner over Northside (1-3) Friday night.
