KISSIMMEE, Fla. – After a showcase sophomore season, the future is extremely bright for Tony Williams. The Class of 2025 prospect displayed his athleticism as a defensive back and receiver last fall with Palm Beach Central (West Palm Beach, Fla.) prompting eight offers. Interest is rising through the offseason as Williams continues to display his skills on the 7-on-7 circuit. From OT7 in Orlando with South Florida Express, the four-star gave insight into his recruiting process.

Williams has stayed local this spring with visits but is about to branch out into Big Ten territory.

“I have been to UM (Miami) and FAU (Florida Atlantic), but I am something up with Rutgers and Penn State to see what those schools are talking about,” Williams said.

The visit with the Hurricanes allowed Williams to learn more about the program.

“The Canes are good,” Williams shared. “I went over there and talked to their coaches. They told me a lot about their school and the program. They are in a nice area; it is beautiful out there. I feel that I can fit in there really well.”

Previewing the trip to New Jersey, Williams shared his interest in the Scarlet Knights, “Their coaches have been talking to me and showing me love. They have been talking to me a lot about family; that is their main model over there – family. They are telling me that want me over there. We’ve talked a few times; it is a nice place over there. I want to go check it out.”

The Nittany Lions’ successful track record placing players into the NFL is drawing Williams to Happy Valley.

“Penn State is a good program,” Williams said. “They produce a lot of DBs. They know what they are talking about over there. They are a program that sends guys into the league. That is a very good school producing big and long DBs; I very much want to go visit there.”

Between camps and visits, the summer days will be busy for Williams.

“This summer I have a lot going on,” Williams stated. “I am going to Miami, FSU, Bama, West Virginia, and I am trying to go to Penn State. There are a whole bunch of schools I want to get a good look at me because I am open. My summer will be packed.”

During the Broncos 12-2 season against 4M competition, Williams secured 10 passes for 129 yards with two touchdowns. Projecting to the next level as a defender, the sophomore stopped 23 plays with three tackles for a loss, four picks, and batted away 11 passes.
