Cal went outside the fertile in-state grounds for another prized recruit landing Tyriq Hardimon on Friday.

Hardimon is a standout safety/corner for Lassiter High School. Stats were incomplete on Lassiter’s season in 2015 but through six games he had 37 tackles, 24 solo, and one interception. The Trojans have started off Hardimon’s senior year 4-0 against 7A Georgia competition downing Johns Creek, Pope, Kell, and Marietta.

The 6-0, 190 pound, talent was in the neighborhood of 20 offers when he committed to the Golden Bears. Among the many hoping to land him included Arkansas State, Georgia State, Charlotte, Iowa State, South Alabama, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Rutgers. Hardimon listed his Top 3 schools as Cal, West Virginia, Navy before his commitment.

Hardimon received his offer from Cal on Feb. 1. The three-star recruit put an end to his recruiting process posting his decision on Twitter reading, “I’m officially committed to Cal!! #GoBears.” His tweet was followed by a posted statement:
