Tyler Moses wrapped up his high school career at Huntington Beach High School by being the jack-of-all trades in 2021. The versatile senior was featured at wide receiver, tight end, safety, and linebacker. On offense, Moses racked up 443 receiving yards and six touchdowns while adding 43 more on the ground and one rushing touchdown. On defense, he had 31 total tackles including eight for a loss and 2.5 sacks.

This 6’1”, 205-pound, leader plays with great intensity and physicality. Moses also has good strength and quickness.

The Class of 2022 recruit already has eight college offers and is drawing interest from numerous others, so it’s only a matter of time before he chooses where to play at the next level.

In an exclusive Recruiting News Guru interview, I caught up with Tyler to talk about his senior season and get an update on his recruiting process.

Interview

Tyler, what are your thoughts on your senior season?

I think I played pretty good, and I had a fun season in my final high school season!

What was your most memorable moment during the 2021 season?

My most memorable part from the 2021 season was being able to play a full 10-game season. It was really good news for tons of people in SoCal football!

What are your strengths on the football field?

I think my strength on the field is being so versatile. I played multiple positions from linebacker to rush end as well as safety, and then on offense played wide receiver and tight end, and I started both sides of the ball.

How would you describe your style of play?

I would describe my play as fast and physical. I think those were some of the biggest things for me when lining up on the defensive side, being able to use my speed and hands to get around the tackles and track down the ball when at safety.

Is there an NFL player that you try to model your game after?

Clay Matthews.

What are your maxes in the weight room?

My max bench is 260, my max squat is 380, and my max power clean is 235.

Have you been on any college visits this fall?

I’ve been on a couple visits to Colorado Mesa and Southeastern University.

Which was your favorite visit and why?

My favorite visit was Southeastern University, because of the love they showed me from the coaches to the players coming up and talking to me. It was just a great time!

Are you receiving interest from any colleges?

Yes, I am receiving some looks from a couple of D-I schools as well as a couple other D-II schools.

Do you have any college offers?

Right now, I have eight offers to play at the next level and I am extremely grateful for all those opportunities.

What do you want your legacy to be after you graduate?

I want my legacy to be that I was a program changer and someone that left an impact on the people around me!

What do you want to study in college?

I would like to study business to someday take over the business that my grandfather took over!

Do you know when you’ll choose a college?

I do not have a date, but I want to take some visits to some schools to get a feel for them and see if they are the right place for me.

What is your GPA?

It is currently 2.9.

Do you have a favorite quote or Bible verse?

Philippians 4:13.

Thank you for your time.
