A big west to east coast swing has taken place seeing four-star California talents Jett White along with his cousin Kobe Boykin transfer programs. White (6-2, 170) and Boykin were at Orange High School (Orange, Cali.) a year ago, but after a quick transfer to Los Alamitos, the duo has packed up landing at Miami’s Edison High School.

White, a Class of 2025 cornerback, covers the transfer with a recruiting update.

Interview

How did the transfer to Miami-Edison come about?

“I was talking to coach Luke (Campbell), I felt like it was better for me and my cousin Kobe. Coach Luke is like an uncle to me. It was different, and there is a lot of energy on the team.”

When do you report, or have you reported already to Edison?

“We just moved in last week. About two weeks ago we were talking about it and a few days after, my cousin Kobe went. Three days later I was out in Miami. I already started practicing. Monday was my first day practicing.”

What has you excited about this new chapter in your life?

“The coaches, my development, meeting new people, it is really different out here, and trying to get better.”

Recruiting

On the recruiting front, the one-time USC commit now holds 46 offers.

Which teams are reaching out to you the most right now?

“Texas A&M, Penn State, Ohio State, Louisville, USC, Maryland, and Oregon.”

Making that move to Miami, is there a connection with the Hurricanes’ coaching staff?

“I have been talking to them too, coach Luke got me on the phone with them also. They are cool, I am messing with them.”

White decommitted from the Trojans on Jan. 3. Louisville is the only team to host White over the summer months. No fall visits have been lined up yet for the four-star corner.

Boykin is a do-all athlete on the offensive side of the ball. The Class of 2024 standout rushed for 1,170 yards with 10 touchdowns and hauled in 34 passes for 335 yards posting three more scores on the board during the 2022 season.
