Little surprise, but Centennial High School crushed it again in 2015 posting a 12-2 record on the way to a second consecutive Arizona High School Football State Championship. The Coyotes had in-season losses to Hamilton (34-27) and Liberty (34-33) but got revenge on Hamilton in the second round of the playoffs advancing on a 34-23 win.

They Coyotes put the finishing touches on the season topping Desert Ridge 28-6 on Nov. 27. Centennial is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, but there is little denying how impressive the offensive line was for the Coyotes throughout the year. Isaac Steele passed for 2,025 yards with 12 touchdowns but the running game exploded for 3,438 yards behind Quentin Gomez’s 1,478 yards and 15 scores along with John Rincon’s 667 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Through all the tough games and trench wars against top in-state talents over the past two seasons Steven Bailey has been there for the Coyotes helping blow open holes towards win after win. Bailey, listed at 6’3”, 295 pounds, has offers from New Mexico, Weber State, Northern Arizona, Army, and Air Force with teams like Arizona State, Colorado, Washington State, and Utah State all showing interest. Teams possibly pushing towards a future offer include Arizona and Oregon.

Bailey released his end of season highlight reel showing off his strength, his quickness getting out on traps, pulls and reaching the next level, and that nasty spirit needed to finish off plays taking away the spirit of any defender who gets in his way.
