Clemson Pulls Big 3-star Class of 2017 SS Baylon Spector out of Georgia

The Clemson Tigers have a nice start to their 2016 recruiting class with 11 commits but added their first piece to their eventual haul in 2017 with Calhoun High School safety Baylon Spector.

Spector helped the Yellow Jackets to a 15-0 record in 2014 claiming a Georgia state championship after beating Washington County 27-20 for the honors. The 6’3”, 200 pound, athlete was all over the field lining up under center completing 66 percent of his passes with six touchdowns in a part-time role, caught four passes for 71 yards with three touchdowns, and lit up opposing offenses with 71 tackles, 40 solo, with 3.0 tackles for a loss, and one pick.

As the sophomore started to make the offseason rounds on the camp circuit and with unofficial visits more recruiting interest and offers started to pile up. To date Spector holds five reported offers from Duke, Georgia Southern, Mercer, and Wake Forest with teams like Auburn and Georgia showing interest.

Division-I schools have made Calhoun a regular stop on the recruiting trail. In the 2016 recruiting class tight end Landon Rice is verbally committed to Auburn and offensive lineman Jack DeFoor to Mississippi.
