Cocoa High School had one of the Sunshine State’s most prolific offenses last fall. The Tigers lose Blake Boda (Coastal Carolina) and his 4,000-plus passing yards to graduation but have a new leader ready to step up to lead the offense in Brady Hart.

As a freshman, Hart got varsity snaps with Melbourne High School getting a taste of elite Florida competition. This spring, Hart has continued to test himself by slinging the ball around the yard with 7-on-7 powerhouse 24K.

“Our 7-on-7 season was great,” Hart said. “This was my first time playing competitive 7-on-7. It was a really fun process getting to know a bunch of really good athletes and playing against really good athletes. It was good exposure and a good environment to do it.”

The new offense at Cocoa will have Hart filling up the stat sheet in a hurry.

“We run a Spread offense with four wide the whole time,” Hart stated. “We have a new transfer from Rockledge; he may play H-back. We might run four-wide and use an H-back.”

The off-season is about improving for the 2026 talent.

“This offseason the biggest thing has been putting on weight, and getting stronger and faster,” Hart shared. “I’ve been working on my speed and agility, and my strength to stay healthy during the season. I have been training with (QB) coach Baylin (Trujillo). We’ve been working on my footwork and my on- and off-platform throws.”

Hart continued covering the differences he’s seeing in his skills this spring, “The biggest improvements have been with my arm strength. I have put on 15 pounds since last season. My speed and arm strength have improved. My throws are becoming effortless.

“My IQ has jumped a lot. (Cocoa head coach) Coach (Ryan) Schneider, he played at UCF, his knowledge of the game has expanded mine. He has walked me through everything from reads, fronts, to coverages. It has been great being around a great QB mind adding to my knowledge.”

On Friday, Hart received news his hard work on the field is paying off.

“I just received my first D-I offer to play at Texas A&M today,” Hart said. “They offered about 10 minutes before our call. My heart is still beating fast right now.”

The Aggies’ offered Hart through Tigers’ head coach Ryan Schneider. Hart spoke about getting that first big scholarship opportunity.

“It felt great,” Hart shared. “It is rewarding, and it was encouraging because all the work put in was leading up to this moment. I have a long way to go, but it is encouraging to get these things along the way. It is a piece of the journey, but I have a long way to go. Receiving the offer makes me want to work harder.”

As interest builds for Hart, teams have been welcoming him to campus this spring.

“I went to LSU, Georgia Tech, Miami, FSU, UCF, and Tennessee,” Hart stated.

Keeping with the Florida schools, Hart broke down his visits to UCF, Miami, and FSU.

UCF: “It was great. Their coaches were very welcoming. They are not big shots; they are always out there talking to you. I went to their spring practice, they are coaching the players and interacting with you, making sure you are taken care of and having a good time. UCF has an upbeat environment.”

Miami: “Miami was a great visit. I like how nice their facilities are. I like the area of the school. Their coaches were super welcoming. Miami is a cool school all together.”

Florida State: “FSU was probably the best visit of all three. You can tell they are creating a winning football team. They have a super positive energy filled campus. Their coaches were all fired up to have us there. I am looking forward to creating a relationship with them too.”

Hart has a busy summer planning to camp at UCF, Pitt, Virginia Tech, South Florida, and possibly Florida State.
