DeSoto Eagles to LSU Tigers Pipeline Continues with 4-Star OG Edward Ingram

The DeSoto High School to LSU pipeline has continued for another recruiting class when Class of 2017 offensive guard Edward Ingram committed to the Tigers on Friday.
Under Les Miles, the Tigers have always recruited the Lone Star State well. Now a strong connection to DeSoto has emerged with 4-star wide receiver Dee Anderson heading to Baton Rouge out of the 2016 class aiding in Ingram being the newest Tiger commit.
LSU fought off some other 20 reported scholarship offers in the recruitment of Ingram. The 6’4”, 325 pound, talent was a highly prized interior lineman offered by Alabama, Baylor, Georgia, UCLA, Texas, TCU, Utah, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Houston, Missouri, and Georgia to name a few. The Tigers hosted Ingram in February leading to his Friday verbal commitment.
The Eagles went 6-6 in 2015 making a two-game run into the UIL playoffs before a tough 41-40 loss to Allen High School (Allen). DeSoto was loaded with Division-I talent out of the 2016 class. In addition to Anderson, quarterback Tristen Wallace signed with Oregon, running back La’Darren Brown went to Oklahoma State along with defensive back A.J. Green, and wide receiver Khairi Muhammad headed to North Texas. Ingram was not the only key underclassman contributor to the Eagles 2015 season. Fellow offensive lineman Hyrin White has already committed to Missouri and wide receivers K.D. Nixon and Laviska Shenault are both considered 4-star recruits for the 2017 class.
Ingram made his announcement national news posting his decision on Twitter reading, “Proud to announce that I have committed to LSU. #lsufootball.”
The Tigers now have five verbal commitments to their 2017 class highlighted by 5-star in-state defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin.
